The Electric Picture House presents:
Showing Live via satellite from the RSC Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Valentine and Proteus are best friends, until they fall in love with the same girl. Having traveled to Milan in search of adventure, they both fall for the Duke's daughter Silvia. But Proteus is already sworn to his sweetheart, Julia, at home in Verona, and the Duke thinks Valentine is not good enough for his Silvia. With friendship forgotten, the rivals' affections quickly get out of hand as the four young lovers find themselves on a wild chase through the woods, confused by mistaken identity and threatened by fierce outlaws before they find a path to reconciliation. The performance will start at 7pm and includes an interval.

Simon Godwin makes his RSC debut to direct Shakespeare's exuberant romantic comedy. Simon is Associate Director of the Royal Court. His production of Strange Interlude recently played to critical acclaim at the National Theatre. The Electric Picture House presents:

Live via satellite NT Live's production of Medea. The show starts at 7pm and includes an intermission.

Terrible things breed in broken hearts.

Medea is a wife and a mother. For the sake of her husband, Jason, she's left her home and borne two sons in exile. But when he abandons his family for a new life, Medea faces banishment and separation from her children. Cornered, she begs for one day's grace.

It's time enough. She exacts an appalling revenge and destroys everything she holds dear.

Helen McCrory (The Last of the Haussmans) takes the title role in Euripides' powerful tragedy, in a new version by Ben Power, directed by Carrie Cracknell.

Scotland the Edge Posted: 8, 2014 18: 1 | Edit
At the Chipping Hall, Wotton under Edge, GL12 7AD this exhibition is a collection of paintings and textile images inspired by the Inner Hebrides which have a rich geological and political history. To capture the vast expanse of sea and sky, with the light reflecting from the ocean was one of the challenges for Jacki. She hopes this exhibition gives you a small glimpse into the variety, beauty and mystery of this landscape. Any profits from this exhibition Jacki would like to donate to Cotswold Care Hospice.

Breeze and Wilson Posted: 8, 2014 18: 1 | Edit
We are thrilled to welcome Breeze & Wilson back to Under the Edge Arts, Chipping Hall, GL12 7AD; a highly accomplished acoustic duo with brilliant harmonies, tasteful musicianship and a great selection of songs.
They play guitars, dobro and are deft of touch, with a wonderful sense of timing, their voices beautifully blended.
Whilst the music often tells sad tales, it is carefully crafted, strikingly delivered and the jovial banter in the gaps offsets the melancholy mood! Booking recommended at info@utea.org.uk More info on 07791 323869

Starting Friday 26th September for 9 days The Hundred Foot Journey starring Helen Mirren.

In "The Hundred-Foot Journey," Hassan Kadam is a culinary ingénue with the gastronomic equivalent of perfect pitch. Displaced from their native India, the Kadam family, led by Papa, settles in the quaint village of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val in the south of France. Filled with charm, it is both picturesque and elegant - the ideal place to settle down and open an Indian restaurant, the Maison Mumbai. That is, until the chilly chef proprietress of Le Saule Pleureur, a Michelin starred, classical French restaurant run by Madame Mallory (Academy Award (R)-winner Helen Mirren), gets wind of it. Her icy protests against the new Indian restaurant a hundred feet from her own, escalate to all out war between the two establishments - until Hassan's passion for French haute cuisine and for Mme. Mallory's enchanting sous chef, Marguerite, combine with his mysteriously delicious talent to weave magic between their two cultures and imbue Saint-Antonin with the flavors of life that even Mme. Mallory cannot ignore. At first Mme. Mallory's culinary rival, she eventually recognizes Hassan's gift as a chef and takes him under her wing.
