Chris Woods in Concert
Posted: Jan 1, 2013 3: 1 | Edit
|
Chris Woods is one the UK's most exciting instrumentalists. His performances are a blend of endearing stories and inspirational focus. His music is a neo-classical fantasia, driven by ear bending drop tuned grooves. You can catch Chris on his return to Under the Edge Arts tonight at 8pm in The Chipping Hall Wotton-under-Edge GL12 7AD. To book: www.utea.org.uk
The last 12 months alone has seen Chris extensively tour the UK, Ireland and Switzerland, as well as performances in the USA, and a host of European destinations. With his own regular techniques section in Acoustic Magazine, his own signature stomp box, and a publishing deal with Hal Leonard, he is the in demand guitarist. The next 12 months are set to be even more exhilarating with yet more UK, Irish and Swiss tours, the release of his new album, the world wide release of his TAB book, and performances across the globe - and that's just for starters! |

Lady Nade & The Silhouettes live in Wotton
Posted: Jan 1, 2013 3: 1 | Edit
|
Tonight 8pm at Under The Edge Arts in The Chipping Hall Wotton-under-Edge GL12 7AD Lady Nade & The Silhouettes hold an impeccable live reputation on the Bristol scene. The sound of Lady Nade & The Silhouettes suggests a blend of vintage soul, funk, R&B and folk yet remains refreshingly unique. Lady Nade’s influences as a songwriter include Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, Antony And The Johnsons, Amy Winehouse, and many others. She is also known as a sought after session singer and award winning songwriter and has collaborated with top level artists including Massive Attack’
To book go to: www.utea.org.uk
Lady Nade’s voice has a powerful authority that belies her young age, a voice that speaks of lost cellars and smoky jazz. But her music is carefully composed and contemporary… bluesy, with more than a touch of soul. It all adds up to a remarkably individual artist with even greater things ahead of her’ - Tony Benjamin (Venue Magazine)

Dan Whitehouse - live music
Posted: Jan 1, 2013 3: 1 | Edit
|
Tonight at 8pm Under The Edge Arts present Dan Whitehouse. He is a “sensational” (BBC 6 Music) singer songwriter with “lyrics that involuntarily swerve your gaze to the sky” (Music Week) and “really, really gorgeous songs” (BBC Radio 2). His music is steeped in timeless roots traditions, laced with lyrical twists that narrate modern life.
Under The Edge Arts in The Chipping Hall Wotton-under-Edge GL12 7AD To book go to: www.utea.org.uk
Following on from his 3 EPs (The Balloon, The Bubble, The Box), in 2012 he released “a serene and nuanced debut album” (Guitarist), acoustic at heart and sensitively embellished with a creative band of musicians who add their distinctive sounds to Dan’s muse, including pedal steel legend BJ Cole.
“not scared of exposing human weakness, & captures the essence of being a songwriter right now”
Musician Magazine
“fresh and exciting”

A transatlantic duo inspired by the traditions of America and Britain.
Hickman’s emotive, soaring vocals and driving guitar is complemented by Cassidy’s ingenious and virtuosic fiddling. Their sound flows from the connection between British and American folk and is bursting with all the humour, heartbreak and excitement of these genres. The lively English wit of Hickman is set against Cassidy’s bone-dry irony and American drawl as they take audiences on a dynamic and unforgettable transatlantic journey.

10-11am every Thursday at Under The Edge Arts in The Chipping Hall Wotton-under-Edge GL12 7AD www.utea.org.uk
Nia is designed with The Body's Way in mind and can be modified to accommodate a wide variety of ages, abilities, and fitness levels.
Throughout class, modifications are shown to help you tailor the moves to your own specific needs and desired outcome.
Not only is Nia a fun, expressive way to get fit, it provides knowledge that can help one benefit out of class, such as balance, flexibility, and increased awareness and vitality.
Nia is done barefoot ( if the temperature allows) to a wide variety of music styles and sounds.
