Local Wotton author,Amy Hudson's new book has just been published. 'The Quiet Deaths' is available on Amazon, WH Smiths and other retailers as an ebook right now. It's a brilliant crime/mystery novel. Think of the Susan Hill Simon Serrailler novels with a European twist. Plenty of intrigue and back stories to really get involved with and enjoy.

Globe on Screen: Macbeth at the Electric Picture House Posted: 7, 2014 20: 1 | Edit
On Thursday 7th August the Electric Picture House will be showing from the Globe theatre Macbeth. Start time of 7:30pm.

When three witches tell Macbeth that he is destined to occupy the throne of Scotland, he and his wife choose to become the instruments of their fate and to kill the first man standing in their path, the virtuous King Duncan. But to maintain his position, Macbeth must keep on killing - first Banquo, his old comrade-in-arms; then, as the atmosphere of guilt and paranoia thickens, anyone who seems to threaten his tyrant's crown. From its mesmerising first moments to the last fulfilment of the witches' prophecy, Shakespeare's gripping account of the profoundest engagement with the forces of evil enthrals the imagination.

But just two days before they must part ways, the boys find a cryptic signal has infected their phones. Convinced something bigger is going on and looking for one final adventure together, they set off to trace the messages to their source and discover something beyond their wildest imaginations: hiding in the darkness is a mysterious being, stranded on Earth, and wanted by the government. This launches the boys on an epic journey full of danger and wonder, one that will test the limits of their friendship and change all of their lives forever.

The Comedy of Errors Posted: Jan 1, 2014 6: 1 | Edit
Set once again in the stunning grounds of Swinhay House, Shakespeare’s shortest play is a brilliant farce of mistaken identities, combined with a few undertones of the dramatic and sinister.

A master and his servant arrive in a foreign port which, unbeknown to them, is the home of their long-lost twin brothers.

Mayhem ensues as brother is taken for brother in a riotous train of misunderstandings, seduction, and pursuit.
A colourful and entertaining romp performed by the traditional all-male cast of The Festival Players Theatre Company.
Please bring your own seating.

“Am I in Earth, in Heaven, or in Hell?”

Booking essential.

Grounds open 6pm, play starts at 7.30pm.

Please bring your own picnic and seating.

Electric Picture House - A Midsummer Night's Dream Live Posted: 7, 2014 20: 1 | Edit
Showing Live from Shakespeare's Globe Theatre - A Midsummer Night's Dream. The performance starts at 7:30 and will include an interval.

Hermia loves Lysander and Helena loves Demetrius - but Demetrius is supposed to be marrying Hermia. When the Duke of Athens tries to enforce the marriage, the lovers take refuge in the woods and wander into the midst of a dispute between the king and queen of the fairies. Shakespeare put some of his most dazzling dramatic poetry at the service of this teasing, glittering, hilarious and amazingly inventive play, whose seriousness is only fleetingly glimpsed beneath its dreamlike surface. Michelle Terry won the 2011 Olivier Award for her portrayal of Sylvia in Tribes (Royal Court). Michelle returns to the Globe having previously played the Princess of France in Love's Labour's Lost (2007)
