Chris Tye Posted: 1, 2014 8: 1 | Edit
Under the Edge Arts, Chipping Hall, The Chipping, Wotton under Edge, GL12 7AD would like to introduce Chris Tye as he makes intimate music on a big canvas. The songs in The Paper Grenade are truthful and sad, romantic and bruised, and shot through with the confidence of a songwriter and musician who has worked out how to make a studio sing in harmony with his vision. At the centre of all the songs, Chris’s voice compels the listener with its beauty and range. Sweet-edged and soaring between melancholy and ecstasy, Tye sings of love and betrayal, dreams and fears, and is always full of desire to communicate, to ‘sing something that means a little’. Chris Tye is a sublime guitar player too, with folk and jazz influences and a nonchalant sense of rhythm. An ambitious composer, The Paper Grenade is urban folk music with lyrical intelligence, with heart and soul. It is modern and timeless, a landmark achievement from a major talent.

Day of Mindfulness at Binley Farm Posted: 2, 2013 09: 1 | Edit
A day of Mindfulness is a time for us to come together to practise being mindful, and an opportunity to support and learn from each other. We usually listen to a talk by Thich Nhat Hanh, and also enjoy practices such as mindful walking, sitting and deep relaxation. We have the chance to share a meal together and as a group, talk about our experiences of mindful living. Practising in a group can be very nourishing, and can give us much encouragement and help in our mindfulness practice, as we try to embrace all that is there for us – our joys and our difficulties.
