CCTV

Wotton-under-Edge was the first market town in Gloucestershire to install a CCTV system. The police use the system as a aid in the fight against crime.  Eight cameras were installed in 2008 with two more following in 2009.

security-posterWe currently have 14 cameras installed around the town which have helped reduce crime and shoplifting in the town. A company called Redhand managed our camera system. In 2014 we received a 50% grant from the Gloucestershire Police round cameraand Crime Commissioner to fund an upgrade of the camera network. The Council regularly review the locations of cameras. This is in order to protect our community and contribute to the well-being of life in this Cotswold Market Town.

Please see our Council: Policies & Documents page for full details of Council’s CCTV Policy.
