Attempted robbery at St Mary’s Churchyard – 4.9.2015

At approximately 23:45 hrs on Friday 4 September 2015 an attempted robbery was committed at the above location. A member of the public was walking their dog when 2 youths appeared and asked them to empty out their pockets. The victim refused and was then assaulted by the youths with stick like objects; receiving minor injuries. The youths ran off along Culverhay away from the town centre. The victim describes the 2 youths as being in their late teens, 5’8” tall, slim build and states that one of the youths referred to the other as “Josh”.

Police are appealing for witnesses in relation to this attempted robbery or anyone who believes they may have information in respect of this incident.
