The B4058 Coombe Road from its junction with Old London Road to a point approximately 400 metres south is expected to be closed between the hours of 09.30 and 14.30 on 12th June and 25th September 2022 only or until the works have been completed. View plan of closure.  The reason for the closure is for a safe working zone during inspection of boreholes to collect information within the carriageway . Alternative Route  – As signed on site. • Repairs to Town Hall Exterior
• Development of a new car park
• Electric Vehicle Charge Point introduction
• De-carbonisation of Council buildings as part of our climate change initiative
• Development of youth service provision
• Allotments management and improvement
• Footpath and footway surveys and improvement
• Re-build of Old Town Toilets
• OK Path lighting
• Establishment of an expanded town market
• Holding events including Christmas Under The Edge, Remembrance Sunday Parade
• Improve play areas and public open spaces

An integral part of this work is the job Town Councillors do: engaging with local people, groups, and businesses to find out their needs; making decisions on the services and projects the council should take forward; and getting involved to ensure services are meeting the community’s needs.

We are now asking people who want to improve the quality of life for their fellow residents to help the Town Council to make that change and apply for being a Town Councillor.
