Remembrance Sunday 14th November 2021
Wotton-under-Edge Town Council and local representatives including the Royal British Legion are holding a Remembrance ceremony on Sunday 14th November 2021. Due to the pandemic, it has been decided to alter the format of the Remembrance parade this year. There will be a simpler route reducing the length of time for road closures with the usual parade starting from the Chipping at 10.40am, which will proceed along Market Street, Long Street, and Church Street, arriving at the War Memorial in Old Town. The Civic Service will then take place at the memorial including the two minutes silence, playing of the National Anthem, and the laying of wreaths.
The parade will then continue along Culverhay to St Mary’s Parish Church where the parade will be dismissed. There will be a display of artwork at the entrance to the Baptist Church in Rope Walk, undertaken by young people, after the service at the War Memorial.
Please be aware that the following roads will be closed and only access for emergency vehicles will be permitted. Please see below the times for the planned road closures.
