Gloucestershire Constabulary has introduced a new improved Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. The new scheme features a system called Watchword. This enables communication with local Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators by email, about specific incidents or more general information to help groups to prevent crime in their local area.

Please be advised of the following temporary road closure:

Old London Road, Wotton Under Edge (2256).

This road will be closed (as per the attached plan) from 29th June 2015 to 3rd July 2015 to allow for the completion of the landslip repairs.

At approximately 23:45 hrs on Friday 4 September 2015 an attempted robbery was committed at the above location. A member of the public was walking their dog when 2 youths appeared and asked them to empty out their pockets. The victim refused and was then assaulted by the youths with stick like objects; receiving minor injuries. The youths ran off along Culverhay away from the town centre. The victim describes the 2 youths as being in their late teens, 5’8” tall, slim build and states that one of the youths referred to the other as “Josh”.

Police are appealing for witnesses in relation to this attempted robbery or anyone who believes they may have information in respect of this incident.
