Wotton-under-Edge was the first market town in Gloucestershire to install a CCTV system to aid police in the fight against crime. Eight cameras were installed in 2008 with two more following in 2009.
We currently have 14 cameras installed around the town which have helped reduce crime and shoplifting in the town. Our camera system is managed by a company called Redhand. In 2014 we received a 50% grant from the Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner to fund an upgrade of the camera network. The locations of cameras are reviewed regularly by the Council in order to protect our community and contribute to the well-being of life in this Cotswold Market Town.
Please see our Council: Policies & Documents page for full details of Council’s CCTV Policy.
