New Waste and Recycling Service – update

Stroud District Council’s new recycling service has now been in operation for almost a week.

The Council’s officers have been out monitoring what has been presented for collection by residents and dealing with any isolated problems that have arisen due to changes in collection dates.

Stroud District Council has already collected a significant amount of food waste and reports that the response from residents has been overwhelmingly positive.

To ensure that the Council are able to complete all collections as planned, residents are asked to ensure that bins/bags are put out by 6am on collection day.

Demand for recycling boxes, bags and bins has been considerable and the Council has allocated considerable resources to ensuring that all residents have the containers they need. They advise that if you are concerned about any delay in the delivery of your recycling containers, please be patient – they will be delivered as soon as possible.

The Recycling Service is dealing with a very high number of enquiries and the Council advises that if residents have a query about the new service, they visit the website in the first instance: https://www.stroud.gov.uk/environment/bins-rubbish-recycling

If you are unable to find the information you need or require further clarification, please email ‘recycling@stroud.gov.uk’ or finally ring Customer Services on 01453 754424.
