Residents will be able to renew the Stroud District Council Garden Waste Service online immediately for collections starting in February 2018. Residents who are unable to go online will be able to renew by making a card payment over the phone as they have done in previous years by phoning 01453 754424. There will be a price increase from £36 to £39 as there has been no price increase for the last 2 years. It is still good value for money compared with neighbouring authorities as prices range from £42 to £45. If you require any further information please phone 01453 754424.

Wotton-under-Edge Town Council in partnership with Wotton Heritage Centre invite shops and businesses in the town to take part in a Christmas window display competition, “Walking in a Winter Wonderland”. For full details please click on the following link Christmas Shop Window competition 2017.

Some residents have received a letter dated 5th October 2017 referring to the Garden Waste Renewal 2018 Scheme, detailing the preferred method of renewal and payment is by accessing the online system. However, residents who are unable to go online can renew or subscribe over the phone. Payments can be made by debit and credit cards by phoning 01453 754424 Monday-Thursday 08.45-17.00 Friday 08.45-16.30 and a paper receipt will be sent by post.

Shepherds Leaze will be closed from 26th -27th October 2017 from 07.30 to 17.30 daily. This is to allow for the road to be resurfaced and it will be closed due to the width of machinery that will be used. Bradley Street, Wotton-under-Edge will be closed from 21st to 23rd November to allow for works by Severn Trent Water.

Wortley Road will be closed on 8th October 2017 from the junction with Nind Lane, to the junction with Hillmill Lane, a distance of approximately 680 metres. This is to allow British Telecom to complete work under the carriageway.

The closure is expected to take place from 9.30am to 3.30pm or until the work is completed.

An alternative route will be signed at the site and pedestrian access on or next to the road and emergency access will be maintained.

Temporary Closure Notice

Rope Walk toilets will be closed for five weeks from 30th October 2017. The closure is due to refurbishment of the toilets by Stroud District Council.

Alternative public toilets are available by the bus shelter at Old Town.
