Road Closures

For safety reasons, Gloucestershire Highways will be closing the route from 1 minute after midnight on Friday 9th September 2022. The road will be closed by rolling roadblock as the Tour passes through the town. This is anticipated to be between 1.30pm and 2.30pm after which the roads will be open.

Parking Restrictions

The following roads will be closed: B4060 Haw Street; Bear Street; Gloucester Street; Bradley Road

There will be strictly no parking on Haw Street, Bear Street, Gloucester Street and Bradley Road from 00:01 until the race passes through on Friday 9th September.

Any vehicles parked on the Road in this section will be towed to the nearest safe place for collection by the owners.

Parking and Buses

There are 3 car parks in the town at the Chipping, Civic Centre in Gloucester Street, and Potters Pond Transport | Wotton-under-Edge

Other Temporary Parking Places

Wotton Auction Rooms, Tabernacle Road – 30 spaces. The Auction Rooms have kindly offered 30 spaces of their car park to residents during the Tour of Britain. Please do not park in the coned off area as that is for their business use. Wotton Auction Rooms | Contact Us

Renishaw, New Mills – Renishaw are pleased to help the parking situation by offering the car park at the front of their New Mills HQ site (located between Wotton and Charfield) for use overnight on Thursday 8th/Friday 9th until the race has passed.

This is the car park that can be seen from the roadside and which they refer to as Visitor Car Park A. It is accessed via Entrance A (see MAP – Renishaw New Mills ) and anyone wishing to use it should not turn right into the site but should go around the roundabout so that they access entrance A on the left (this is to prevent hazards caused by having traffic queueing on that road).

There would normally be a barrier in place just after entering via entrance A, but on the evening of Thursday 8th September the barrier will be left open.

Please note that any cars using Car Park A would be at the owner’s risk, however, there are Security staff on site and CCTV cameras monitoring that car park.
